병원에 면회 온 80대 아버지와 치료비 문제로 다투다 밀어 넘어뜨려 숨지게 한 혐의를 받는 50대 아들에 대해 경찰이 구속영장을 신청했다.

충남 서산경찰서는 존속폭행치사 혐의로 50대 A씨를 긴급체포해 조사하고 있다고 30일 밝혔다.

A씨는 지난 21일 오전 10시쯤 충남 서산의 한 병원에서 입원하고 있는 자신을 찾아온 아버지 B씨와 말다툼을 벌이다 밀어 넘어뜨린 혐의를 받는다.

경찰 조사 결과 당시 병원에 입원 중이던 A씨는 치료비 문제를 놓고 B씨와 실랑이를 벌이다 범행한 것으로 파악됐다.

A씨에게 밀려 넘어진 B씨는 머리를 크게 다쳐 병원으로 옮겨져 치료를 받았다.그러나 사고 일주일 만인 지난 28일 결국 숨졌다.

경찰은 당초 A씨에게 존속폭행치상 혐의를 적용했다.이후 B씨가 숨지자 혐의를 존속폭행치사로 변경하고 A씨를 긴급체포했다.

경찰은 A씨에 대한 구속영장을 신청했다.부검 결과 등을 토대로 정확한 사건 경위를 확인한 뒤 조만간 수사를 마무리해 사건을 검찰에 송치할 방침이다.
